5:2 Diet Week 7 Fasting on Christmas Day? Really?

YES really!!  In my culture (Filipiono) there is as much celebration and food Christmas eve as there is on the day itself. and yesterday, my niece, Josephine, hosted a family get together dinner. Actually I had attempted to fast but when I got to her house and saw the spread, I went "Nahh" Why not celebrate now and fast tomorrow. She had chips and spicy homemade guacamole, vegetable egg rolls. Quinoa which I made and my other niece brought real good prawns in spicy sauce. yummy. Just about the type of food I can consume on a pescetarian diet. so I broke my fast at 5 pm and went on a FEED day instead.

When I got home I had a martini, brie sourdough chips and my Christmas celebration was done and over with. Because today Christmas day, I fast. Well  you see, I don't have any pastries or sweets lying around or any special Holiday dishes. I also planned not to go out and socialize because that would mean having to indulge  and chat over food, besides it's raining and gloomy so today I have decided to actually just kick back in my robe, watch the tele, Facebook,  do a little cleaning in the kitchen and surf the web.(for yummy low calorie versions of my favorite dishes like the calamari which I found here baked calamari.

As I have posted before, the trick to fasting for me at least, is to not eat in the morning and splurge at night, That is easily achievable on a busy day,  staying home and  doing nothing changes everything. I started the day with 2 tablespoon of coco sap. 70 cal a tbsp. (this is suppose to be very good for you. I had originally intended to have 2 tbsp for breakfast, 2 for lunch 1 for snack and 2 for dinner. didn't quite work out but I still did good with FIBERS, all my favorite veggies all day!! I grilled and I boiled. LOVE IT!!!

I don't think I mentioned it but  had purchased a food scale which is really helping me eyeball food I consume outside of the house and when eating out. I suggest for one to get one just to really train you eye and get use to the right amount of food consumed in one meal.

Next weigh in on my 10th week
