LOW CARB SWEETNESS

Having a low carb lifestyle long term has its draw backs. The very thing I miss the most would be DESSERTS!!.. I tell you, I was never the person with a sweet tooth only because no dessert I ever tried compared to my grandmother's, Jovita Cenizal,  homemade, straight from the garden goodness. But lately I have been craving SUGAR  .I guess, with careless abandon, I got hooked on the America's indulgences in junk food like (FOR ME)  gummy bears, and peach rings. Oh my!! I needed intervention and I gave myself one after my diabetes returned after a 28-30 lbs RE-GAINED weight got the better of me. Thus, the HI protein diet.

But no man can leave on meat and meat alone, once in a while we need a little sweetness in our lives, the good kind. So my research took me to this "low carb friends" a haven for support on all sorts of  "WOE " diet plan/lifestyle and recipes to boot. Hallelujah . Besides the cheesecake I already posted which took me some experimenting here and there . I have two new addition to my roster of low carb edibles ( there are lot more at the site) which are really good.  sweet enough to silent my craving for sweetness.

GUMMY BEARS (WELL GUMMY JELLO)


1 PACKET FLAVORED JELLO (SUGAR FREE FAT FREE)
6 PACKETS UNFLAVORED UNSWEETENED GELATIN POWDER
1 TSP STEVIA
1 CUP COLD WATER


PLACE ALL INGREDIENTS IN A POT ADD SUGAR AND STIR VIGOROUSLY UNTIL IT BECOMES MORE LIKE A BREAD DOUGH.

PLACE THIS MIXTURE IN A POT CONTINUE STIRRING UNTIL ALL IS MELTED AND COOK. PLACE ON ANY FAVORITE CONTAINER THEN LET COOL INSIDE REF. I USE THE SMALL CUPCAKE CONTAINERS.

WAIT 30 MINUTES AND IT'S READY TO QUIET YOUR SUGAR CRAVINGS..



WALNUT/ALMOND CHOCOLATE COOKIE

3 TBSP OF COCONUT OIL
1 TSP STEVIA
1 TBSP COCO POWER
3 TABLESPOON WALNUT OR ALMONDS (BOTH HI FIBER)

MELT COCONUT OIL IN A PAN ADD YOUR COCO POWDER AND STEVIA STIR FOR A MINUTE

POUR MIXTURE OVER NUTS ON A PARCHMENT PAPER ADD UNSWEETENED MACAROON (COCONUT) OPTIONAL
FOLD PARCHMENT INTO A BAR OR SQUARE PLACE IN REF TO COOL

IT HARDENS TO A CHOCOLATE COOKIE BAR
